Reconnecting Families. Restoring Hope. One Fishing Line at a Time.
Casting Hope, Family Fishing Program Inc. is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping families reconnect, heal, and grow through structured fishing education. Our programs use fishing as a powerful tool to rebuild trust, strengthen family bonds, and create positive memories that last a lifetime.
Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen families and support community healing by providing accessible, hands-on fishing education that promote responsibility, patience, communication, and quality family time.
Casting Hope was originally created to support parents on parole or probation and recently released parents reconnecting with their children. As the program has grown, we have expanded to welcome all families who want to learn how to fish, bond outdoors, and build healthier relationships together.
What We Do
Casting Hope offers a 10-hour structured Family Fishing Program, delivered through guided outdoor sessions and hands-on instruction. Our program focuses on: • Fishing fundamentals and safety • Rod, reel, and tackle education • Knot tying and bait selection • Ethical fishing practices and conservation • Patience, teamwork, and communication • Weekend fishing trips Each program is designed to be beginner-friendly, welcoming families with little or no fishing experience.
🐟 Program Outcomes
At the completion of the program, participating families receive:
• 🎓 Certificates of Completion
• 🎣 Fishing gear to continue fishing together
• 📄 Assistance with obtaining a fishing license (where applicable)
• 💙 A renewed sense of connection, confidence, and shared accomplishment
Our goal is not just to teach fishing — it’s to create moments that bring families closer and help parents and children reconnect in a healthy, positive environment.
