About Casting Hope, Family Fishing Program Inc.

Casting Hope, Family Fishing Program Inc. is a California-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and supporting community healing through hands-on fishing education and outdoor experiences.

Founded by Kahili, Casting Hope was created to help parents on parole or probation—and recently released parents—reconnect with their children in a positive, structured, and supportive environment. Fishing serves as the bridge: a calm, skill-based activity that naturally encourages patience, communication, responsibility, and quality family time.

As the program has grown, Casting Hope has expanded to welcome all families who want to learn how to fish, spend meaningful time together outdoors, and build stronger relationships away from everyday distractions. Our programs are designed to be accessible, family-centered, and focused on real connection—whether it’s a parent teaching a child how to cast for the first time or a family learning together side by side.

Casting Hope provides guided fishing workshops, safety education, and supervised group outings that promote trust, teamwork, and confidence. We work closely with community partners to ensure our programs remain safe, inclusive, and aligned with our core values of accountability, respect, and personal growth.

At its heart, Casting Hope believes that strong families build strong communities—and sometimes all it takes is a fishing pole, a little patience, and the opportunity to reconnect.
